Jeep last offered a pickup truck more than a quarter-century ago until it unveiled the Gladiator. Named the second-best midsize truck by
Edmunds, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator is an all-new model based off of the Wrangler. Resembling the Wrangler, the Gladiator is a compact pickup truck that you can remove the top and doors as well as fold down the windshield. Find out what else you can expect with the Gladiator and its four trims: Sport, Sport S, Overland, and Rubicon.
Off-Road Ready
Jeep is known for having vehicles ready to hit the unpaved roads, and the Gladiator is right there with the rest of them. It has large off-road tires, advanced all-wheel drive, and a sturdy suspension so you can tackle just about any type of terrain.
Powerful Engine
Although the 2020 Gladiator only has one engine option, it produces plenty of power. The 2.6-l
iter six-cylinder engine produces 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission, but you can opt for an eight-speed automatic on any of the trims. Later in 2020, the Gladiator will come with a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Superb Towing and Hauling Capacity
Engineered for strength, the 2020 Renegade allows you to haul and tow just about anything. Adding the Max Towing package to the Sport trim can increase the vehicle's towing capacity to 7,650 pounds and 1,600 in the cargo bed. These numbers are comparable to the GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado, which are both diesel-run vehicles. Behind the Gladiator's four-door cab sits a 5-foot steel bed with a tailgate that folds completely down. Also, at 218 inches from bumper to bumper, the vehicle is one-half of an inch longer than other trucks with a 5-foot bed.
Customizable Options
On top of the four trims, you can select a variety of options and combinations. You can make the vehicle truly your own by customizing it to your liking. There's a Trailer Tow package, which adds trailer hitch zoom and heavy-duty engine cooling. You can also add the Cargo Management Group, which includes a 115-volt outlet for the truck's bed and a lockable storage bin. There are also several different door, top, and windshield combinations.
Key Safety Features
This Jeep pickup truck comes equipped with several safety features, including a standard rear view camera and several additional options. On the Sport S, upgrade to the Jeep Active Safety Group, which includes rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors. You can also opt for an adaptive cruise package, which includes automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning. With the Rubicon, use a front-facing trail camera mounted on its grille when blazing trails or crawling across rocks. You can also use an integrated spray nozzle to clean mud and dust off the camera.
Sometimes the best way to determine if a vehicle suits your needs is to get behind the wheel of one of them. To schedule a test drive of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator, reach out to the professionals at
